Starting a couple of days late, but I thought I would give this Bloganuary challenge a try. I’m not sure that I am up to the challenge but I thought I would give it a go. After all what’s the worst that can happen. People will find out that I can’t write. That’s okay most people didn’t think I could anyway.

So, in giving a lot of thought about what I can write about finding lost treasure. Turns out that possibly the biggest lost treasure is my mind. The problem, of course I haven’t been able to find it. I’m afraid, that is a treasure that is lost to history forever.

The hardest thing about finding lost treasure is that, it is lost. So I sit here racking my brain about some treasure that I found some time in the past. But I can’t say that I have ever found any large shipments of Confederate gold and I have never been able to find that inland stash of doubloons that Blackbeard hide here in North Carolina. The only treasure chest I ever found was full of the little gold looking candies and they turned out to belong to someone else. They didn’t even give me a finders fee.

So I thought, I am going to have to look into the deeper meaning of treasure. The lost love that you was able to find after years of tears and loneliness. Or understand the treasure that we have with a great family that is always there for you. But then, that’s not a lost treasure. It is a treasure that is for sure but not a found lost treasure. I thought of the love of Jesus and the eternal life we can have with Him in heaven. But again, He’s not a lost treasure I found. He found me and I don’t think anyone but God would consider me a treasure.

I guess that my new challenge for this new year is to try to find some treasure so next time I’ll have a great story to tell. If anyone has any idea where there is a lost treasure, please let me know. Well then I guess that wouldn’t be a lost treasure ether. O well, maybe I’ll have better luck with tomorrows challenge. O yea, and if anyone has found a large treasure and is looking for someone to share it with please let me know.
