CUT OFF

Not a great picture of what were beautiful roses. The Roses thrived and grew and blossomed bringing forth the beautiful flower. But then they were cut off from the Rose Bush. From the moment they were cut they began to wither and die. Great beauty now cut off from the source. Now soon to be cast away. Jesus in John 15 tells us that He is the Vine and we are the branches. As long as we are in him we can thrive and grow and produce beautiful fruit (flowers). But if we do not remain in Jesus we are cut off from the source of life. We too will be gathered and thrown away into the Fire.

2 Peter 3:18 Tells us Grow in Grace and Knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Just a quick word on that. Do you sometimes feel like you’re just stuck. Not that your falling backwards but you can’t seem to move forward. I’ve been there, spent a lot of time there. But this verse reminds me of Gods Grace. Not my Grace. Seeking to grow, move forward or get out of the rut, it reminds me that Growth is in the Knowledge only found in Gods Word. And well the quick answer to Grace is Jesus Loves You.

Wondrous

Under covid lockdown, as my wife and I was both dealing with the effects, the four walls of the house was closing in on us. We wanted to be responsible adults but we had to get out or go crazy. She would tell you I’m already crazy.

Anyhow, we decided to just ride around. In our own truck we figured that was quarantined enough. Then she spoke up and said “let’s go to Morrow Mountain”, a state park not far from us, here in North Carolina.

We enjoyed riding around in the park, at about 7 miles an hour, to see what wildlife we can see and the beauty all around us. It had snowed a couple of days earlier and the mountain still had a good bit of snow on it, especially at the top.

As we road and talked, as our conversations often do, we talked about God a lot. And looking out the window she said ” stand still and see the wonders of the Lord. That moment was so profound, all around us the wonders where bountiful.

We are moving so fast in the world today that we fail to see the beauty of God’s creation all around us. I know this is a sin cursed world and going downhill fast. But if you can get away from the pavement and hustle and bustle of everyday life, that takes us away from God’s given beauty, you can see how God looked at all He created and said “It is good”.

Job 37: 14 Hearken unto this, O Job: Stand Still, and consider the wonderous work of God. I believe that most of us when we here this verse, we are looking for the miracle God is fixing to perform. We think of this when we are needing an intervention in our life. I challenge you to go to the Word of God and read for yourself the rest of Job 37. The story of Job is a very familiar story. He lost everything. His house, his life stock, and even all of his children. His Health was taken and he was covered in boils and sores from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet. Yet he never turned against God.

He did however question God. Why God? I’ve done all I am supposed to do. I serve you faithfully I am yours and I have not sinned. Why o’ God why? In this life we face a lot of things and it’s not always pleasant. The Bible says it rains on the just and the unjust. But no matter what you are going through or what has happened. God is still God. He made it all. He choose to breath life, his life into us. All around us God is visible in His Creation.

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. God told Job stand still. I say now Stand Still! Look at the things God has made, not the things man has corrupted. Take the time today to see. I mean open your eyes, slow down and SEE.

Psalms 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. When you stop and truly realize God’s coloring book and all there is in it.

Well, I don’t know, for me it helps me to remember, that whatever I am going through I am still God’s. It is all in the palm of his hands. The God that created all there is and set it into motion, will have absolutely NO trouble handling my little problems. After all he already solved my biggest problem. Where will I spend eternity. So I say again Stop, Look around and see God. It will blow your mind.
